A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT/CEO
Moving FORward with our public speaking journey, last week Step 1 was to discover “What makes your heart sing?” Hopefully, you were able to really think deeply about that statement and find your passion. I love my position with the Chamber and it truly makes my heart sing to connect member businesses and individuals, help them grow and develop, and be a part of what makes Beavercreek great.
The next step to continue your journey is to learn how to master the art of storytelling. When you tell a story, it tends to reach peoples' hearts and minds. It gets your audience to understand WHO you are and for those folks to trust you. Storytelling is the ultimate tool of persuasion. Brands, as well as individuals, who tell stories, emotional and genuine stories, connect with their customers and audiences far deeper and in more meaningful ways.
We are all natural storytellers, but somehow we lose this part of ourselves when we enter into business. We tend to rely too much on PowerPoint presentations and fall into presentation mode. We forget that the most effective way of delivering information is through the emotional connection of story. They make concepts and ideas tangible.
Step 2: Tell your story.
Here FOR you,
Wendy Rodgers
President/CEO
