The historic Tobias-Zimmer Barn at Wartinger Park has been abuzz with activity preparing for the Saturday, August 26 Barn Sale! The doors will open at 9:00 a.m. and the sale will end at 3:00 p.m. You won't want to miss it. The weather forecast indicates a lovely day to come out to shop. All your purchases will help fund our non-profit 501(c)(3) Beavercreek Historical Society's activities.
Wide-ranging options of merchandise are filling up the barn, and we've had to call for more tables! We have received generous donations of items large and small, many home decor items, quilts, baskets, tools, framed wall-art and more. A few special items include a beautiful camelback antique trunk that came through Ellis Island with people coming to settle in the United States, a desk/table from an old Dayton hotel, as well as a small spinning wheel and a yarn winder that are duplicates in our antiques collection and thus will be sold. We have two patio loungers - one a beautiful contemporary lounger handmade by a local craftsman from aromatic red cedar and another more traditional lounger that is untraditionally made for two. And that is just a start of the list of things we have waiting for you.
Wartinger Park is located at 3040 Kemp Road, east of the North Fairfield intersection. The barn sits almost directly behind the Fire Station, where you turn in. If that lot is full, you may park at the Beavercreek Schools' Administration Building and walk across the path into the park to the barn. (The City has closed off the small entry drive into the Park next to a street-side log cabin as vandals sadly had been driving recklessly into the grassy areas.)
We thank all of the members, their friends and families who have contributed so many things to make this fundraising sale a success.
